XBMC iTunes Sharing Problems
basically, there's three macs here that are sharing their itunes libraries over the lan. everything works there, and they can share between them no probs. i've added their ip addresses to the centre [-forum-auto-response- today's lesson; our name is xboxmediacenter].xml file, and can navigate through them all fine - i.e., the playlists all appear and i can see the contents of their music libraries.
however...
when i try and play any file from any of their playlists, xbmc hangs with the following log:

i'm not a programmer, but the kernel32.dll error seems strange, and is there a way to increase the timeout on the daap share?
thanks for any help you guys can give me on this one - i'm loving xbmc.
cheers,
adam
in particular, we need debug information. see the online manual for how to do this.
by the way: try playing it with mplayer (use white -> play with) rather than paplayer.
cheers,
jonathan
that's british spelling for you... :d
adam
i've renamed the following files in system\players\paplayer:
in_mp3.dll
aaccodec.dll ---> because many of the music files are encoded as .aac
madcodec.dll
new log's up on pastebin here. (http://pastebin.com/546500)
still the same problem though - it's freezing on me with the same kernel32.dll fake function error. this time though, the music stream seems to be jumping all over the place, playing 5 second or so excerpts, then hopping forward or back and playing another 5 secs or so. the msg:mpg123: can't rewind stream seems to be appearing lots, but it was my understanding that mplayer can't rewind audio streams?
i'll try increasing the cache size, see if that helps.
cheers again,
adam
cheers very much for getting back so soon - i've uploaded the new log to pastebin here (http://pastebin.com/545913). it's big though i'm afraid - i've taken loads of the debug daap::addtoartistalbum entries (there was loads), but hopefully that won't be a problem?
the actual playing starts at 17:39:20.
as you can see, the tracks seem to play fine using mplayer rather than paplayer, so if there's a way to set mplayer to be the default rather than paplayer, that could be a solution? provided it won't cause any other probs that is *???
let me know if you need more info...
cheers again for your help, and for working on such a great app!
adam
you can possibly stop all mp3's playing with paplayer by removing/renaming the dll that it uses (in this case system\players\paplayer\madcodec.dll)
cheers,
jonathan
