Why do the atheists on here always bash on christian so hard? Please explain your mindset if you are one of th

  • Not saying that I am one, but what I've noticed is that people on here just have the following mindsets, as if this was given information:

bible is illogical and contradicting itself
Christians are stupid and must follow "their God"
Atheists are the free thinkers, no matter what kind of stupid sarcastic comment they make.

I've also seen tons of questions like "how many christians know how to screw in a lightbulb, or use toilet paper" and stuff like that. It's degrading and a stupid question overall.

Church groups have done very much for communities, they have brought people out of depression, alleviated their losses and pain, but people on here only seem to think, "lets make fun of christians because they believe somthing I dont, thats why their stupid."

why have you ignored all the good deeds done in the name of christianity but only attack christian belief with science? most of the science and logic people bring up are rediculous. please explain why you hate so much?

  • The only this you said that was correct is that the Bible contradicts itself. Every other attack in your rant was targeting a straw man. Creating false argument and attacking those false arguments is all you done. I hope you enjoy rants and fallacies.

  • It's not a matter of hate, I don't hate anyone. But I'll give you my standard answer on why I criticize. They knock abortion but take birth control, They say Gandhi and mother Teresa are in hell because they didn't accept Jesus. Actually they say anyone who doesn't accept Jesus will go to hell. Maybe it's just all the hypocrisy that goes along with it.

  • they are being faced with the truth and hate it, theyre being forced to see they arent as "accepting" and "tolerant" of others views as they think

thats why 5 minutes in you dont have any answers defending their position

*hypocracy? this from the group that will call me intolerant for not supporting gay marriage (isnt that saying my views are wrong?) i do tolerate them, i dont hate gays, i however dont support them nor do i condone their actions.*

  • Do yourself a favor, now that you've looked at all the atheist answers to Christians and do the same with Christian answers to atheists.

You might find that there are two armed camps, vehemently defending their unverifiable positions.

  • There's no 'hate' involved... I can't really think of anything or anyone that I hate, right now. With regard to 'bashing' christians... well... why don't you try thinking of it as a 'public service'.

In case you haven't noticed, there is a 'cultural war' in progress. On one side, we have rationality and critical thinking. This has nothing specifically to do with 'atheism', per se... it is a 'sanity' thing. It just so happens that 'sane' people do not tend toward belief in invisible, magical sky-fairies (gods)... which, according to the religiose, makes them 'atheists'. That's YOUR word... not ours.

In the opposing corner, we have gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, drooling stupidity and hypocrisy (religion). This happens to be a battlegound in that war... essentially, a war of ideas.

We're not seeking to 'convert' anyone... that is futile. The systematic religious indoctrination (brainwashing) that has been inflicted upon the 'other side' conveys a demonstrable immunity to things like reason, logic, evidence and critical thinking.

However... I consider it to be our ethical duty and moral responsibility as sane, rational human beings to intervene, in the hope of protecting vulnerable, questioning young minds from being infected by the dangerous and harmful religious 'meme' (viral idea)... protecting them from droolingly stupid nonsense like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PP...

Also... honesty compels me to confess that I have a kind of morbid curiosity and fascination in observing the alleged 'minds' of believers in action.

â œRidicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions." ~ Thomas Jefferson

Gods were invented by man, in a desperate attempt to explain what was once unexplainable... things like the sun, moon, and stars... day and night... thunder and lightening... sickness and death... etc... and to answer questions that were once unanswerable... vital, profound, important questions like "Daddy... what holds the sky up?"

For all of these questions, the delusion "God did it" (the ILLUSION of knowledge) has been replaced by REAL knowledge... and as a result, this 'god' has been reduced from an all-powerful supernatural being to a 'God of the Gaps'... an imaginary cockroach-like creature that scurries from crack-to-crevice, looking for the remaining patches of darkness and shadow in mankind's '"knowledge-base", so as to cower and hide from the glaring light of knowledge and understanding.

The fact that people continue to cling to this pitiable, delusional 'god' idea is a pathetic disgrace, to say the least... and I am inclined to add 'tragic' to that, as well... a testament to the enduring power of gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, hypocrisy and drooling stupidity.

Yet today, we find stalwart defenders of these insane delusions fighting a desperate battle to stave of knowledge and understanding, trying to shield the dark cracks and crevices of ignorance from the light of reason... crying "No... no... that ain't so... God did it... God did it."

We're just trying to shine some light into those cracks and crevices of ignorance which you are inhabiting, along with your god.
