Why do Athiest belive what they read in books?

  • If Athiest hate the Bible and the Koran so much, why do they always use books to prove there religion (evolutionist)???

Arent Athiest just trusting books and man, instead of trusting God?

    Doesnt anyone see the hypocracy?

  • I don't see the hypocrisy, it's books of facts verses book of stories. People who live under the umbrella of religious beliefs have found what makes them convertible and more power to you, I choose to go with the sciences . The word hate you use to describe how you feel atheist are is incorrect.
Atheist don't hate, hate is a religious word and we don't believe in it.

  • And what book would that be?

I think and discuss with others. I don't need a book to tell me what to believe.

Hey, anyone here how the loving muslims strapped bombs on an 8 year old girl to go kill the enemy? Such a loving religion indeed.

  • First off evolution is not a religion, as much as Christians would like to make it out to be. Atheists are generally atheists because they hav read many books including the bible and from the reading of many books they can then make up their own mind.
Atheists arent trusting in books as a Christian holds trust in the Bible. They trust that which has been verified to be true.
If you wish to call atheism a religion you are calling clear a colour.
p.s. the plural of 'atheist' is 'atheists.' You might want to remember that..

  • They're trusting man - man is real, you see them every day! God is an abstract theory involving belief and faith. No I don't see the hypocrisy. What I see is someone clutching at straws by asking this question.

  • I dunno... Why do religious people believe what they read in books? If you answer my question, you've probably then answered yours, as well.

  • What a total hypocrite you are! What do you follow., A book, otherwise known as a bible.
We don't 'hate' the bible we just don't belive in it. Atheist is NOT a religion that's the thing, we don't belive in religion not just christanity.

  • not hypocrisy, no.

the religious read one book & decide with other people

atheists read many books & decide individually

  • Sometimes athiest trust webpages too, even though html is the tool of the devil.

  • I agree, it does seem a bit hypocritical for evolutionists to condemn Christians for believing the Bible when they believe all that they read in science textbooks considering what they believe is not always fact.
Christians and atheists alike quite often parrot what others
have said which isn't always a bad thing especially if the references they parrot are proven to be fact and have kept their factuality over the years. In the case of Christian references like the Matthew Henry Commentary, Strong's Concordance, etc, these have been around for many years and are still used as valuable and factually established tools for study. Science is ever changing because of new discoveries. What was once thought of as fact would be decimated by a newer finding. Evolution on the other hand tries to use science to prove a theory that will never become a fact. Science itself has proven many of their former "truths" to be nothing more than concocted half truths and shoddy experiments. Take the Miller Experiment for instance.
Obviously, the significance of Miller's Experiment-----which to this day is still featured in many biology textbooks---hinges on whether he used an atmosphere that accurately simulated the environment of early earth. To make a long story short, yes Miller's Experiment produced "organic molecules" but they ended up being formaldehyde and cyanide but to suggest that formaldehyde and cyanide give you the right substrate for the origin of life is a joke. Millers experiment produced organic molecules alright but do you know what you get? "Embalming fluid".
My point being, there's nothing wrong with parroting or using what other people have written or spoken but always make sure what you use is tried and true. Evolution changes as much as I change my socks because the evolutionist's once believed "facts" are always destroyed by new "facts". The Bible is tried and true as are most of the references. Much of what evolutionist's thought to be fact but has since been proven wrong, are still contained within many science textbooks and yes, still believed and parroted by evolutionists.

  • When Christians read the old testament, written thousands of years ago, by men we know nothing about, and then believe it implicitly, they too are believing what they read in books. And atheists and Christians that believe anything they read without consulting God about it, are in the same boat and tarred by the same brush

  • There is no hypocrisy in learning to think. You cannot compare a collection of made up fables written by primitive people to a modern day science book. To do so would only make you look foolish.

  • *pops a popcorn in his mouth*

  • according to my understanding they , do not believe in books. if day wud dey wud certainly believe in d holy bible n d holy quran. the jus believe in wat day think is right n not wat the creator thinks is rite 4 dem. this iz wat is called az ego-centrd. day won even agree wid wats rite if u tell dem even if day realize it.
i do c der hipocracy. but cant help. only god will deal wid dem in the best of ways. lets leave it up to him and pray 4 der guidence.

  • Because the book is mans word as opposed to the bible which is God's word.

They would rather trust in what a man says than what God says.

  • Atheist may also say the same thing that you said. The believer also goes by his 'holy' book. You too have blind faith in the book and the word. When no one has ever seen God and do not have any idea how He looks like. It is only belief and faith that we live by and the word from the holy texts. Very few people have direct experience and those who have it cannot say what it was like!So it is better to live with our own beliefs and stop putting the ball in their court!!

  • No, but I see the irony.

The credulous have only one book, and believe it written by God, without evidence for that belief.

  • all I see is the stupidity. The Bible is supposedly the word of God. It is not a scientific treatise.Scientists do not hate these books. They simply attest to the fact that they are not scientific. The Bible is a good book but not the only book. The problem with you people is that you have never read the bible in its entirety. Little grabs by evangelists for little minds
does not constitute reading the good book. Have you ever read the Koran? I doubt it.

  • Atheists don't trust random books. They trust controlled experiments.

  • When atheists believe something they happen to have read in a book, it is usually because they have read a lot of books, have thought about the contents of those books for themselves and have discussed any contentious issues with others.

Religionists generally rely upon just one book - usually a compendium of fractured ancient writings from thousands of years ago, when folks thought the sun revolved around the Earth and that thunder was the angry shouts of an invisible man who lived in the sky.

By the way, there is one mathematical equation revealed in the Bible - and it is utterly wrong! See if you can find it.

If we believed the Bible over other books, we would still be living in mud huts.

  • all i'm seeing is your stupidity...and i don't need a book for that.

  • A. Learn some spelling first.

    B. There is no god, therefore trusting god = trusting nothing.

    C. There is a difference between a book that ask you to believe blindly and books that ask you to use your brain.

  • Well, I believe that atheist is spelled A-T-H-E-I-S-T.

(And, by the way, evolution is no more a religion than gravity is. Perhaps you should read some other books besides the Bible and the "Koran".)

  • They wouldn't trust "God" in the first place because they (most of them at least) don't believe in the existence of deities.
