Why do atheists come here if they do not believe in God?
1. Nice atheists and agnostics will have honest questions for religious people, regarding what they believe. I have see quite a few "How do I become a Christian" questions which is encouraging.
2. These hard questions actually make it easier to ground ourselves into our religious beliefs. I know as a Christian that although the questions that are asked are sarcastic, demeaning, and meant to be answered to extremely high standards, they help me understand Christianity better.
So instead of hurting us, well...thanks atheists! I mean that without sarcasm by the way. Seriously thanks. Some of you have really made me think in ways I've never thought of before.
first of all atheism is not about NOT believing in God, because just to believe that there is no God is a belief itself, so there cannot be any true atheist.
atheists believe that no supernatural power condemns and controls our lives.
It doesn't only exclusively include God, it also includes the multitude of beliefs on earth today.
Besides, this is an open, public forum, if YOU don't like it, you create your own private christian forums, and not on the internet, that's like the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of because anyone can act like a christian, anyone can make themselves out to be whatever they want on the internet. Do that at your church or temple or mosque.
*vanishes*
There's more than one god, there are other religions you know. This section is not just for your god.
You are a fascist.
That is some seriously scary crap. That's some Ayatollah sh_t right there.
And people wonder why atheists care about religion. Sheesh!
Or am I the only one who comes here for that?
One can be an atheist and believe in spirituality.
I come here because I'm interested in religion, and R&S fuels my interest. Why do YOU come here? To have your baseless beliefs reinforced by others with the same beliefs? That's sad! Stick around, you might learn something.
1. the site is religion and spirituality, not "belief in invisible sky fairies"
2. Atheists believe in lots of things. Just not the aforementioned invisible sky fairies.
3. What is your problem with bananas?
Nice exclusionary system you have there - and here I read and understood that part of your mission as a Christian is to spread the good word of god. Can't exactly do that if you're only talking to people who already believe as you do, can you?
Enjoy your banana drinks and financial integrity and your trolling.
After all, you're the one asking the question...
Because, even though we don't have any religion of our own, we still care about religion, we care about what it's doing to our world and the people in it.
>If atheists believe in nothing
There's a difference between 'not believing in God' and 'believing in nothing'. Please learn it before attempting to argue further on the subject of how atheists think or what atheist motives are.
>does that mean that they really believe in God
No. I mean, lots of christians talk about homosexuality a lot, but does that mean they're really homosexual? No, of course not. It's the same thing with us atheists.
If I were interested in Religion and Spirituality, where would I go? Cats?
Atheists believe there is no god meaning that we believe in someting.
I'm here to debate my points and argue against religion.
Is that a crime?
anyway when i get bored of being told i'm going to hell i go to the science and maths forums.
This is an open forum.
Atheists can still be religious.
Atheists can still be spiritual.
Spiritual and religious things still affect atheists.
Or, banana-drink recipes...
