Which countries have competed at every Olympics?
please I really need to know
Australia, Greece, and Great Britain
In those days they competed for themselfs not for a country 1896 so in other words if u were in greece at the time and wanted to compete u were welcomed..Another thing was gb needed 4 for there 4by 100 and only had 3 so an Aussie joined them to make a 4th person it was allowed as it was a spirit of the games they ended up winning but as i said it was for themselfs in the old days now i think today has no spirit .
The official answers are Great Britain, Greece & Australia however I would dispute Australia as the first games were held in 1896 and Australia as a political entity has only existed since 1901. Individuals from the colonies that went on to form Australia competed in the first two games but they couldn't compete for something that didn't yet exist.
Are we just talking Summer Olympics here? If so then there is no disputing the fact that Australia, Great Britain and Greece have competed at every Summer Olympics. Switzerland have also competed in every Summer Olympics - they boycotted Melbourne 1956, but where represented in the equestrian which was held in Stockholm earlier in the year because of Australian quarantine laws. And France may have competed in every Summer Olympics but it is unclear whether they were had an athlete competing in St Louis 1904.
And in response to skate, there are a number of NOCs that compete at the Olympic Games despite that fact that they are not independent countries. Examples include Hong Kong (territory of China), Puerto Rico (territory of USA) or Bermuda (territory of Great Britain). So it doesn't matter if Australia was not an independent nation until 1901, it was still eligible to be recognised as unique from Great Britain at the Olympic Games.
