What is a word for ...?

I was with my guy friend, Joe ( who is not my boyfriend yet, but will be one day soon ) last night and his best friend was there, named Andy.
Joe, Andy & I were chillin' in Joe's driveway last night, just talkin' and shootin' tha sh*t, when Joe got in his jeep ...
He pulled out a bag of letters from his ex-girlfriend ( We'll just call her gisebelle :] ) and was like " Yo Andy, lemme' read you somethin funny!".
So Andy went over to Joe pulled one of the letters out, and started readin' it. They were laughin' at the letter Joe read, and sayin' all this stuff, & I was just standing there thinkin' like ... Oh my god, how could you!?
I can't believe he did that ... Right in front of me!!! Joe & I both like each other ... A LOT! Thats why I can't believe he would pull out letters from his ex ( Whom he supposedly hates ), right in front of me & start readin' them.
He was laughin' at what she wrote in them, and makin' fun of it and all that good stuff, but the stuff that was in those letters were still not something I wanted to hear ...
Why would he do that while I was standin' right there???
Was he tryin' to act cool or somethin'???
I don't know.
But back to the point ...
I want to tell this story to my best friend Jasmine,
and I need a word to describe it ...
Something that would go with the sentence ...
" Oh my god, I can't believe he had the ______ to do that!!! "
A word that means " Nerve " or " Balls " , or somethin' along those lines!!!
