What do the Lyrics mean?

  • The Almond Brothers song "Sweet Melissa" is so beautifully haunting, but I've never been able to figure out it's meaning. I have some ideas but not all the pieces fit. I'd like to get other's take on it. Does anyone know?


  • I think it is about a man who lost his love, and he will never forget her.
    He travels to all the different lands, trying to rid himself of his loss.
    But he can travel all across the world, and she still has his heart.

    "He won't stay without Melissa" Meaning he won't be content anywhere without his love. So he will continue to live like a free, care-free spirit when deep down his heart aches, and it forever will, for his Melissa.
