strange NAT problem

  • Hi,

I've got a strange problem with Outpost v2 and NAT. I'm using M$ ICS and it works if i disable Outpost.
But if Outpost is running then I've got the following behaviour:
Outpost detects the NAT packets and the outgoing traffic is allowed - the log shows "Allow NAT Packets". But the answer from the internet server is blocked and I'm getting a block-log-entry like "reject connection to port opened by system".

    So what's wrong ???

That may be the case. If I were in your position, I would fill out a support request using the Agnitum Support Form (http://www.agnitum.com/support/supportform.html). Be advised that you may only get an automated response as this issue has probably been reported before. However, the more tickets created on issues with ICS, the more attention it will get. And, be as detailed as possible in your Support Request. Many times Agnitum cannot act on support requests as the information is not complete enough. As long as you provide a very good problem description, a description of your systems and network, and some contact information, you should be OK.

Sorry I cannot offer more at this time. I do not use ICS and so I cannot even attempt to reproduce what you are seeing. I did send a note to Agnitum a few days ago requesting that they do some more ICS testing for the next release. We will see what happens.

    Have a good day. :)

  • Hi DPR,

    Welcome to the forums. :)

The best advice that I can give to you at this point is to read this thread. There is more than one ongoing disucssion concerning people who are having difficulty getting Outpost to work with their ICS network.

I've alread read these postings and the FAQ. None of the methods helped me ...
I've tried to set a global rule, add the IP to the trusted zone but without any success. It seems that the "Stateful Inspection" for the NAT packets does not work properly ...
