it will be nice if xbmc can scale the skin according to the resolution of the display.the current implementation has the following problems:
- the font size is too small in higher resolution like 1080i when it is in the right size for 480p
- the backgroup picture is too small in 1080i and 480p. for example, in the main menu page, the home, exit, help icons don't fit into the background picture because the picture is too small. in the osd, the icons are outside the backgroup frame. it looks kind of ugly.
however, the location and size of the icons seem to be right. maybe we just need to do some scaling for the backgroup pictures and font size.xbmc allready has "skin auto adaptation", but what it does not have/do is re-sizing of fonts to enlarge them (because currently that is not possible), nor background/icon picture re-sizing to enlarge them (because it would look ugly). better if people (re)design skin for hdtv.how about a setting to let the menus run in 480p and video playback in 1080i. the menus/screens/everything look great in 480p, even on my widescreen tv, but is completely unusable in 1080i. if it could be made to just switch to 1080i for video playback/visulations it would at least be useable untill someone came up with a solution for the small fonts.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
