Reputation pop up window does not work

  • I just upgraded from 3.6.10 to 3.7.0. I had to create a new template not a parent to another to fix some other issues I had. Now when viewing a post and clicking on the reputation icon nothing happens. If I right click my mouse and choose open in another window the reputation option opens in that window and I can leave reps. How do I get the pop window to open again? My members won't go through the trouble of opening the rep box in another window.

  • Then you have another modification that is causing this.

    To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

  • I figured out the problem. It was a mod_security issue. I add the line SecFilterEngine Off to my .htaccess file and it fixed it!

  • Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

    If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

  • I tried exactly what you said and it did not work.

  • I put a test forum on my server to a different domain name. I did a full installation of 3.7G. I had not had vb on this domain before so it was a clean full install. I set the options as close if not exactly the same as the options on my working board that I am having the problem with. On the test board on the clean install the same problem happens with the rep icon. Nothing happens when I click on it. I can right click on it and open the rep options in another window, but i do not get the pop up in the current window. When my working board was using 3.6.10 it worked fine. The url to my test board is http://www.mycruisethings.com/forum

    Could this have something to do with my server settings or the version of php or mysql? If it ran 3.6.10 ok, should it not run 3.7?

    By doing a complete clean install i have ruled out that an addon product is causing my problem.

    Hmmm...I don't see how you can have his problem with the original vB code and templates. What's the URL to your forums?

  • I had also tried that as well. Did all those things before posting here.
