Problems with XBMC loading Apps - Black Screen

  • Hi,

    I've spent the last few hours trolling the forums reading about this topic but haven't seen a solution to this. I was hoping you guys might be able to help me...

    Here's what I've done so far:

    -Downloaded AID4, installed XBMC as my dash. It loaded, scripts worked, videos played, but *all* applications ended up going to the black screen when I tried to launch them.

    -Formatted the C drive, installed UnleashX as a dash, installed apps (including XBMC) and they all ran. Then I went loaded up XBMC (without a hitch) and tried to run the same apps from there (dvd2xbox, boxplorerer, etc..) and they all went to the black screen.

    Any ideas as to why this is happening? Someone help me please!! :)

    I will try this as soon as the power comes back on (PSEG is doing work for another half hour..)

  • If you have the latest (ie T3CH from last 48 hours or so), then you'll need to setup advancedsettings.xml with the tag.

    See the online manual for more details - a search for "Advanced Settings" will get you there.

  • You're right! I do have an X2 chip. What should I grab a newer version of? I was under the impression that the BIOS I have (X2 5035) was the newest.... Any suggestions? Thanks!


  • Sounds like you have an X2 chip and have a version where the xbe loading was broken due to modchip detection (a bug in the X2 bios/chip)

    Grab a newer version.
