In Car XBOX

I have recently installed my xbox in the car... the xbox is soft modded with a 160GB HD and XBMC installed. The whole system works fine until i come to play the games i have saved to the HD, some work fine but others change the display output to NTSC and the picture goes black & white!!
I'm sure the black & white is because either a) the screen in my car can't handle NTSC or b) the screen can't handle switching between PAL and NTSC in such a short space of time?!?!'
So, my question is... is there a way to force all games to output as PAL so the screen will work all the time?
Any help would be appreciated... it's currently taking the edge off something i should be over the moon about.
