then WHY are so many foreigners wanting to come to universities in the US? What's wrong with the universities in their own countries?We're talking Ivy League some of the best in the world which a relative minority of americans gets to attend. Theres most likely nothing wrong with universities in their own countries but what's wrong with choosing an Ivy League or going abroad to study? Going abroad to study does not equal having bad colleges or unis from where you came.
Foreign students going to USA to study is not an indicator of Americans level of education... sighOur test scores are lower than in other countries. That is the reason Americans are supposedly less educated. Our test scores are lower because we educate everyone. Also education isn't valued here. The football coach is the highest paid employee of the school system.
In some other countries, if you can cut it in school, you go to work at a job that is within your skill level.
Foreigners who come here are rich(rich enough to study overseas) and smart (they are not going to send dumb people). The dumb or poor do not come over here. They are at home making Nikes for $5.00 a day. Try doing college level work in a foreign language. I don't know from experience, but that sound difficult to me. My college roommates were all foreigners and they were really smart and nice people.statistically we are not as educated as alot of countries. during the debate it was brought up that our students lack of knowledge in math and sciences could pose a national threat. and i agree our colleges and universities are some of the best in the world because we pay for it. but our public schooling system is a joke.

say you want to be a doctor the hospital will hire someone from harvard far quicker than someone from chinawell the notion that we are less edumacated has been triggered by the ongoing influence of the rap genre to our edumacation system and society. have you noticed that this ongoing trend that started since the late 80s has been effecting our edumacation since, and the dumbing down of our society is seen all over the world? Money, money, money, it's sad I know. Also in America it's easier to keep your own culture cos there's nothing to mix with. You've got a cheek calling them foreign the only real americans are the Native TribesI live in a university town, a lot of language students, and all sorts of students come here, Cambridge, U.K, for a good education.
If someone wanted a good education from a prestigious university, they would go to: Cambridge-U.K, Oxford-U.K, Harvard-U.S.A, Yale-U.S.A.
The top rated universities in the world are in the U.K and the U.S.
I think that if one wanted just an amazing education, they might come to the U.K. But if they wanted an amazing experience, they would go to the U.S. Your whole "college" experience thing seems fun.
I'm much too much of a misery guts to be able to fit in at an American college though. We'll see. After i go to Cambridge, or Oxford.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
