I have two girls. I have a live plant and everything they need. Please help!Well, I used to have a black molly and it lived for about a year and a half. Of course, I forgot to feed her and she died. She probably could have lived longer, but oh well.Depends on how well you take care of them.
just because you try really hard to do everything right, doesn't mean you will though.
i had two that lived a few years, and the ones i just got only lived a few months.. so i mean.. it deff varies.. its hard to say how long they would last since most live-baring fish (guppys, plattys, mollys, swordtails.) are inbred alot. mollys are pretty hardy fish. if cared for right they can last years. but you said you have everything.. do you have salt? mollys are brackish water fish. brakish water is the water right before rivers go into the oceans so the water is slightly salt. 3-5 years, if cared for right.3-4 years. But if you add a male to your tank, forever. Mollies reproduce like rabbits. The babies are easy to care for too, If you just let them go you'll have at least a 75% sucess rate. They do need that salt! The employees at some of these places-especially these big pet stores like Pet Smart- don't tell you lots of things you need to know. Most of them can barely even net a fish. If you want your mollies to be healthy they really do prefer and need that salt!! 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of water. Put salt in every time you do a water change- the same ratio. Most freshwater fish can tolerate that small amount- especially the live-bearers. No its is not right.Mine is still living at the age of 18.What about that.depends how you care for them, just like with anything , like a flower !they can live up to 5 years if im not wrong
