i went to the doctor last week because i had an infection in my big toe from an ingrown toenail. i had to see a nurse practitioner because my regular doctor wasn't there. she prescribed a medicine for me that was supposed to heal my toe. i took it for 4 days before i started having severe abdominal pains and severe backaches along with diarrhea. i called them today and they told me to quit taking it and then told me they would give me another prescription so i did that. well, i haven't taken the old medication for 24 hours now and i am in serious pain. my back hurts all the time and i have abdominal pain so bad i can barely get up off the chair and if i try to sleep or lay down then it gets worse. i took tylenol but it doesn't faze it. i also am now staying sick on my stomach and can't eat anything because it makes me sick. have you ever had this happen or know someone who has? if so, what can i do for the pain ?how long will this last?medications can do strange things to your tummy. if you are getting worse indeed call your doctor's office back and let them know. i especially wouldnt take the new med prescribed until you talk to your doc again. if you dont let them know what is going on they fix the new onset from the old medication.
call your doctor back for sure. its not uncommon to place numerous calls.after all they cant fix your symptoms if you dont tell them your having them. if you start with a fever for sure call the doctor. Dang i am so sorry you got sick like that as that really sucks.I took some antibiotics and about the 3rd day they had me doubled over in pain and hurling and i quit them also.It took 2 days to feel good again..Some meds will say do not eat or take on empty stomach and if they forge to put it on it' it messes you up big time..lots of luck to you....Antibiotics don't know the difference between the normal good bacteria in your intestines and bad ones, it kills them all. Get some yogurt with acidophilus cultures in them asap. Ask if you can take Pepto Bismol, don't take it unless you check as it can negate any benefits from the antibiotics.I am not at all visiting to doctor for cold, headache, fever etc. Because I am doing yoga exercise, meditation and walking regularly. So I do not have such problems at all. Why don't you practice all such things? If it is antibiotics they have given you, that is what is kicking your butt.
I had a really bad reaction to some, and got sicker from the antibiotics than what they were giving them to me for. They had to take me off of them completely , it had messed my whole system up so much,, and I did have very much tummy pain.
Antibiotics can be so hard on your system, because they do kill off all the good & bad bacteria, leaving your sytem vulnerable and sensitive.
Stop taking any until the morning and call the Doctor first thing ( tell them you want to speak with your DOCTOR) and explain everything you said on here.
I feel so bad for you having the infection and now feeling much worse thinking you would feel better by now,,,,hang in there hun.....Those are questions you should ask your doctor, not people on yahoo answers.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
