    5 bucks says our team has been playing poorly because everyone hates our boss and it's a HUGE distraction to the team.

    it might be knee jerk but i've had enough of Hoddle. there was no reason not to put Toda on monday and it looks like he's going to ice him out too. they're rushing Ziege back too after that surgery i just don't like it there's no reason to have him playing first team ball when the doctors said he shouldn't play till after the summer.


  • We get linked with everyone but the board never delivers. We couldn't afford the money for Ricketts (about 2m). Why? We offered £15m for morientes and have since spent £7m on Keane, where has the other £8m gone? We could have had Pep Guardiola but turned down his £40,000 wages.


  • I'm starting to lose patience with the man. All those striker moves look pretty fooking stoopid right about now. Our last two outings have looked very amateurish. I think we just shat ourselves out of Europe.

    The games against west ham and fulham were poor but we are in 9th on equal points with 7th. If we pull our finger out we can finish top 6 for the first time in 13 years. What we need is some new players in the summer. Its time for the board to put a bit of money in and help us get up to our rightful place.


  • I agree that we seem to be throwing points away and that we could be doing so much better. I just think that at least we are scoring some goals now and it is better than usual. I suppose we should be grateful for small mercies. The board has no ambition though. We could have had Malcom Christie and Chris riggot for 5 m, but they went to the giants of Boro instead.


  • Yeah, Malcolm Christie would've been very cool, although he went to Boro along with Micheal Ricketts.

    As well as Morientes, we're also being linked with the Spanish Micheal Owen. Real Madrid's other amazing striker, Javier Portillo. He's broken all of their scoring records as he's progressed through the ranks and has found getting inot the first team a little frustrating, with Raul, Ronaldo, and Morientes ahead of him in the pecking order.

    Fingers crossed, eh?


  • Hoddle is slightly mad. He does seem incredibly vindictive towards certain players (Gazza, Deadwood, Rebrov, now Freund), and he seems to alienate them too (Dennis Wise, Ruud Gullit).

    Some of his management decisions leave a lot to be desired (selling two strikers and not getting any replacements, now look what a mess we're in!) and it looks like Matthew Etherington hasn't been approached with a new contract. Thats right, the Etherington who's interesting Man U, Charlton, Everton and Leeds. He's actually held in higher regard in football circles than Simon Davies (hard to believe, but true).

    Come on Hodd, sort it out!

    My blasphemy is a result of the sheer frustration borne from knowing we could be sitting fourth in the table had we played a little better in just a few situations. I'd much rather be battling for a Champs league spot than blindly praying that we get into UEFA. Like you said (sort of), we have been a midtable team for 13 yrs and it is time to step it up a little.

    I didn't have any problems with Hoddle until this whole Doc at forward thing reared its ugly head. What was so wrong with Rebrov that we wouldn't rather have him playing up top? Especially with him losing us several million pounds that single-handedly put the club in the red??? And the game winner to Les this weekend was particularly painful. We should have had six points over the last two games instead of one. Even with our injuries (God I miss Ziege) we still have a strong enough squad to be able to dispatch a ten man Fulham side(even in 30 minutes) and relegation strugglers West Ham.

    Don't let my pessimism bring you down, man.

    And in spite of all my complaining, I can still proudly cheer
    GLORY GLORY SPURS !!!!
