Forum permissions

  • Hi there, i have just swapped over from phpbb and trying to et my head round vbull. I have a few forums which only certain usergroups can access.

    I would still like everyone to see that the forum's are there and available on the main page.

    What is the best way i can set the permissions so that only VIP's can access my VIP part.

  • In your Admin CP go to Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions.

    Then for the forums you want to restrict, edit each usergroup that shouldn't have access and set "Can View Forum" to no.

    Then under vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Listing Display Options set "Show Private Forums" to one of the Yes options.
