Follow the edge of the browser.

  • hello.. i am a user of ext js frame work and i wanted to make my panels follow the edge of the browser whenever i try to resize the size of my browser. what should i do to make to solve this?

i hope someone will enlighten me on this problem of mine. thank you very much in advance.

  • I have no idea what you want any more. You might want to post a couple screenshots showing what you are after. Otherwise look at the layout browser demo to see if something is close to what you want. Sounded like you wanted something relative to a side of the browser and to fill a certain percentage of the browser, but now I have no idea.

  • Ok.

The first image is using a panel which i render to a div with an id "panel"

Now the second image is shows what i want to do. As you can see when i try to resize my browser, the panel did not resize itself to the size of the browser.

  • I think OP wants say a window that is fixed to say the right border of the window even when it is resized.

You might look into anchor layout / config option.

  • i hope i can still find another help/ideas to solve my problem.

  • Yes, that would be nice.

Seriously, why not post some code or offer something on what you have tried. You should be able to play with some vanilla widgets to test this (among the other ideas already suggested).

  • no no, i don't want to use the whole browser window. all i want is to contain it to a certain container, but still, makes it follow the size of the browser whenever i try to make a resize.

At first i'd use Ext.Panel, contained on a div. Of course the div began to expand depending on the size i defined on the Panel (e.g. 700x500). Trying to resize my browser does not make it automatically size it self to the size of my browser. Using Ext.Viewport will make the thing i want, but it does cover the whole body of the page.

  • how was that mean?

  • I am guessing Ext.Viewport (http://extjs.com/deploy/dev/docs/?class=Ext.Viewport) is what you are looking for.

  • how can i make this panel to adjust it self whenever i resize my browser without having to occupy the whole body of the page. For you to know, it's a joomla component i made out of extjs framework, and it is contained inside a joomla website.

  • You want to use the whole browser window, yet you dont...
I am not understanding what it is exactly that you want to do.

  • I am sorry but I what part of my code then shall i have to post? and i don't know what should i have to offer.

  • Thanks for it. But is there a possible way wherein i can only contain the Ext.Viewport in a certain container? I just wanted to render it to a specific div element because i don't want it to occupy the whole body of the browser.
