Does anger make you think more than when you are not angry in your opinion?

  • or how is the thinking differant??

    why and how so?

    Thanks for your answers!

  • Your thinking is adrenaline charged this makes it much easier to stick your foot in your mouth. Anger tends to give a person tunnel vision thereby preventing a person from thinking about the wider implication of what one will say or do.

  • I actually agree with you about anger making you think more. I find this to be true from my own personal experiences

  • I defiantly think better when I am not angry. The thinking process is more sensible and logical and I can see situations from more angles when I'm calm.

I sometimes don't even bother getting angry anymore and just skip straight to the calm....

  • Yes I think it does. I seem to have more points to argue with and more stuff to be angry about.

  • I would say exactly the opposite. Anger (and other strong emotions) tend to cloud your judgement and make you say things without thinking about them first.

  • Actually, anger can cloud one's judgment and lead to hasty and reckless decisions. You don't think any more, but you tend to focus over and over on what made you angry, and you tend to actually close your mind to offers of suggestions. Your thinking has somewhat stopped and you act more on your anger impulses (like beat the person up who made you angry, or destroy the item that is causing the anger in an attempt to reach some sort of satisfaction)
