3D Configurator
I'm part of a small team that make online product configurators in 3D and we use Java.
We have played with Papervision 3D / Flash but found it not really suitable for projects of this complexity. - you can see some of our configutators here: aarkid 3D configurators (http://www.aarkid.com/3d-gallery.html)
We'd be interested in hearing from anyone else who offers this type of service, or anyone who's seen this available anywhere else (using either flash or Java.)
It would be good to have a more general discussion about the current and future state of interactive 3D, including any opinions from 2D artists.
Thanks

Short answer is no - no easy way to pull this off in flash to make true 3D models.
You could have flat images of 4 sides of the helicopter that you could place graphics on, but there wouldn't be a way to render this to isometric views etc. very easily. And even then, you're looking at a fair amount of code to drag/drop/resize graphics on the images.
