10 POINTS TO BEST ANSWER..... ....... and probably thumbs up to other answers....?
Bad: The dependency ratio will go up. In demography, the dependency ratio is the number of people not working (children, retirees) divided by the people working. What this means is that with so many new retirees, the people who are working will either have to pay higher social security taxes, or social security runs out of money. In short, the social security taxes you pay now are paid out to people collecting social security benefits now. So, you'll be supporting far more people on your paycheck than the baby boomers supported on theirs.
Also, a lot of new jobs in senior care, health management, nursing, etc. will be created.
As for the second part, "Why would it be bad," when the baby boomers retire they're going to start collecting social security, which means the portion of your paycheck that goes to social security will go up.
