Video that doesn't fit Movies Or TV?
I was wondering how others have set-up their video that doesn't fall into these two categories?
For instance...movie length doco's (Aliens of the Deep) and things like interesting "one off" TV shows.
I was thinking about setting up a new source called "Special Interest" and setting individual folder's in there with either movie or TV scraper.
What do you think? Any suggestions (things I haven't thought of)?
Thx.
Then you'd only have to go to file view for multi-episode TV show .ISOs.
I don't use the "genre, title, year etc etc" screen as I have my setup jump straight into the "Movie" view (although this is likely to change with a 3rd source added)
I don't' use file mode at all (except for setting up new entries). I use Library Mode for my .ISO tv entries as well - why use file mode???
Also I'd hate to mix all the children stuff with my Video Library.. and thus keep switching between file and library view.
How to pull it off though is another matter entirely.
Yeah...I've been wanting custom nodes for quite some time - think I posted about it a while ago. There are a lot of things these could offer. Certainly has my vote!
Thx Dude. I didn't know of that skin. Just read the whole post and it seems like a lot of people think it rocks. I'll give it a look.
I guess one of the problems is that being all such unique individuals, we have our own idea how a skin should work/look. It's difficult to provide that in any one skin I think - one that will satisfy everyone's needs.
Another difficulty (this one is mine) is that many don't have the skills to create such great works - nor the time to learn. The answers to some questions are hard found and extremely time consuming. Just the few small tweaks I have made to PM3 took many hours if not days. I keep trying to figure things though :)
And, because this (XBMC + Media server) is basically the realisation of a long term dream for me, I'll keep on doing so until I get the setup the closest I can to what I want!
Good advice, but...I am sure there are other ways that this could be set-up that I haven't thought of. I was just asking the question because everyone has such unique ideas and I'm sure someone has already done this (even though I couldn't find any with a search) and could offer some insight:)
Couldn't you use the movie library genre "family" for the "children stuff" and the genre "documentary" for documentaries?

I'm already a serious dB tweaker (I'm actually quite paranoid about it and keep several backups). I've played a lot trying various things within the dB, but I don't always get the results I want - mainly because the dB doesn't always work like I think it will :oo:
I keep coming back to a 3rd entry after "movies" and "TVshows" that I'll call "Special Interest". My problem is that there is no easy way to access these areas directly from the home screen (that I know of) without a mod to the skin - which means constant tweaks everytime you upgrade to another version. :sniffle:
