Should I Buy An iPhone?
What may turn people off from Apple is their way of doing things. Unlike other companies, such as Microsoft, who let you completely customize to your heart's desire, Apple typically forces you to do things the way they want. Now, for just about everyone, this sounds like a bad idea. I know that before I switched to using a Mac, this was one of the major things that would have scared me away. After switching and using a Mac for quite some time, I've discovered that although they force you, their way of doing things is actually very good.
This is also true with the iPhone. Cell phones for many people are typically used simply to call up their friends or relatives and not much more. But nowadays there are so many possibilities to make your life easier, it's definitely worth looking into. Do you remember everyone's birthdays? What about anniversaries? Or what about your nephew's baseball game that you promised you'd go to? It's hard to keep up in life with so much going on nowadays. Your phone can help. Most cell phones come with a built-in calendar, but the iPhone's calendar is even better. A typically phone's calendar is very hard to manage and very time consuming to add in events. On the iPhone, you'll simply tap the screen a few times and you're on your way. Every part of the gui of the iPhone is so intuitive that everyone can figure out how to use it on the first try.
Already gotten the hang of the calendar on your phone? What else can the iPhone really do? Well what about the calendar on your computer? Isn't it annoying to have to update both on your phone and your computer? The latest iPhone (the iPhone 3G) features a new thing called MobileMe. This is sort of an internet based communications system between your phone, your computer, and a piece of your own personal webspace. So say someone gives you their new number, you enter it into your phone and it automatically gets sent to MobileMe. From there, it gets pushed into your webspace and even onto your home computer. All of your contacts are always up to date no matter where you are. The same thing goes if you update something on your computer. Enter a friend's birthday? It will be sent to your phone instantly as well. Take a picture of your best friend? This will be automatically uploaded to your personal webspace.
Lastly is the price. The new iPhone 3G is extremely affordable. Now at only two-hundred dollars, you can get this new device and it will literally change your world.
